Baltic countries will celebrate Mother’s Day in the beginning of May and for past couple of months we have been preparing a Mother’s Day Shawl KAL for SandnesGarn Baltic stores.
This is the biggest ever design project for Woolmint and we’re very proud how it turned out.
Today the kits were listed to our online store for a pre-order and we’re ready to ship them on April 12th latest. Don’t worry if you don’t live in Baltic countries, but would like to take part anyway – our KAL Facebook group is open to everyone and Woolmint ships worldwide.
But now about the shawl itself. We wanted to create something that looks outstanding, but is a suitable project for even a beginner. It’s helpful if you’ve worked with lace charts and slipped stitches before, but if not, this is a good project to learn and knitters in our FB group would be happy to help if you have questions.
The name of this shawl is HELENE and kit’s are available in 3 colorways – blue, orange and yellow. All materials (we use SandnesGarn Mini Alpakka for this shawl) are packed into a nice gift box along with printed pattern and a greeting card – in case you would like to give it as a gift.
For the first time in our (design) history we were able to work with a team of real professionals, to make this photoshoot happen. We’re very thankful to everyone who helped us to get those fabulous photos:
World class Estonian photographer Rene Türk – we fell in love with his portfolio from the first moment. Take a look yourself – Rene Türk
As big fans of her, we were thrilled to work with Laine Mägi – one of Estonian best known actresses – and her daughter, dancer Liis-Katrin Avandi. It was such an honor to have you to model for us.
Our make-up artist Lembe Lemmiksoo – like a sunshine on this cloudy Sunday morning.
Our hairdresser Aive Golt, who is the author of those colorful yarn heads.
And our big thanks goes to a nice family who let us to use their home for taking the photos. It was wonderful!
